Our Development Squads
- Singaporean or Singaporean PRs between the ages of 12-23, who have shown potential in their specific cycling discipline
- Riders are grouped into different categories, depending on their abilities, availability and commitment level
- Helps ensure the best use of our resources and allows us to tailor training programs and competitions suited to each riders’ abilities
Selection Guidelines
All riders must meet the age group as required by Singapore Cycling Federation.
To be eligible for selection, Riders must be Singaporean or Permanent Resident (PR).
Riders must be available to attend all team training sessions as arranged by Singapore Cycling Federation BMX Coach.
Open selection trials are conducted once or twice a year to identify riders with the potential to excel and represent Singapore.
A series of fitness and bike handling skills assessment, as well as a Power profiling test may be done to identify the riders. More details on the tests can be found in the Athlete Selection Policy.
Riders who meet the criteria to enter the National Training Squad, may be accepted directly in the National Training Squad, without going through the Development Squad.
While we accept Singaporeans and Singaporean PRs into our development squads, depending on the regulations of certain competitions, Singapore PRs may not always be eligible for selection.
All athletes selected into the Development Squad will be required to sign the Athlete Agreement.
